Thursday, October 26 Spell-check for real people. Honest to God, today is an amazing day in the world, for only this reason. The brand new version of Fi*reF*ox (2.0) has a spell check built in so that anything you're typing in web windows is automatically checked. Now, I know that's cool enough on it's own (and Yeah, IE has it, but it's an add-on, so you have to download it... screw them) BUT what makes it EVEN cooler? Swears. It has swears built in. I couldn't be more elated that there is finally a spell-check that recognizes that humans swear. I found out by typing "fuckin'" in an email to a friend. It had a red line under it (not from email program now, from the browser!). I thought "well, of course you don't get it, it's a swear." Out of curiosity, I clicked on the red line and found that it listed options right in my drop menu (cool!) and one of them was "fucking". WHA??? You know how to spell swears!!??? I love you 2.0. I then wondered, in another email to the same friend as I was figuring this out... how dynamic is the swearing? Is it just fully out there? Or was it limited to shit and fuck? Oh no. I checked on another word, and bam... there it was. :) So, that's that. I'm quite happy about this new development, and when I get home I will be updating both computers to 2.0 for happy, swearingly good surfing and posting. :) As for the rest of my life, it's a day to day roller coaster. I think the most pathetic thing in the world is crying in the shower, and today I did, so I guess I've become the most pathetic thing in the world. To add to my tentative mental state, my DVR box crapped out on me last night. Let me tell you, when you're drowning yourself in an alternate reality to escape your own and a tool of that escape is compromised... well, it's bad. I brought the box in today and exchanged it for a new one, hopefully all will be well. I am physically unable to watch two TV shows at the same time.... so if it doesn't work, this being Thursday - I'm SCREWED. Okay, back to work, but just had to share. So, most (and yes, I mean most, not ALL) chicks worry. We worry about things that are said, that aren't said, that happen, that don't happen. We overanalyze everything, which is not always a bad thing - sometimes it provokes good conversations, or at least entertaining ones!, but sometimes we're our own worst enemy. That's how I've felt lately. So guys, if you know a girl like me... throw her a bone once in a while, just let her ramble, assure her she's nuts :), and give her a hug. It like a mental check box and sometimes we just want to get it out of our heads so we can move on to something more productive.
