Friday, August 4 The crazy summer rolls on. I'm back from LV, and glad to be home although a bit bummed at the lack of gambling. I don't know where the time went, but I barely played at all... few slots, never made it to the tables (boo hoo!). I spent a lot of time poolside, soaked up some rays (under a heavy slick of SPF!), ate a few nice meals, chatted with friends, etc. I'm sort of over the bash events, I have to say. I mean, they were fun, well attended, etc.... but I guess after 8 years of going to events we run, and all the others we've hit over the years, I'm just done. It's always the same, and I'm just burnt out. I'm sure I'll go next year, but I am not that interested in the parties (pool parties at night were way more fun for me). The one thing I really do enjoy, and what will keep me going back to things, is socializing with so many different people, and seeing friends that I only get to connect with once/twice a year. So.... on the heels of all of this, NAAFA is upon me. I leave Monday for the hotel, and I'm a little under the gun with some work things that need to be done before I go. I am looking forward to getting there though. I have a lot of online friends who are heading in for the event, and I'm happy to have some laid-back time to spend chatting and hanging out. I also have a long distance visitor on the way here, so that's an interesting thing to sort out in my head. Not sure what the outcome will be... I guess time will tell. I have to go to the airport around noon, so I guess I'd better get to bed fairly soon.
