Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Busy girl!

I've been working (mentioned before) on these two damn projects that I can't seem to get done. I finally got a couple of answers, so I can make some progress on one, but I am quite ready to be done with these.

If you read the Dim boards, then you already know, but I got a nice accidental flower delivery yesterday! They came UPS from ProFlowers and were on my deck when I got home. Right address, but wrong girl. :) I called the company, and they were going to contact the sender to correct the problem and resend the flowers. So I got to keep the ones they sent to me... 2 dozen assorted roses, very beautiful.

My mother called me this morning, and she may be joining my dad on a business trip to Holland in a couple of weeks. In my sleepy state, I said "Sure, whatever" (agreeing to doggy duty) but realized later I was supposed to be heading to CT that weekend for a party with a bunch of people. Sooo, guess I screwed myself out of that. Although honestly, I couldn't really say "no, Mom, you can't go to Holland, I have to go to Hartford and do some drinking."

So we'll see if she ends up going along, and it could be a really nice trip, so I hope she does. They went about 30 years ago, so it would probably be nice to go back and see it again.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! :)

Yup, another one going by without one for me, but I still dig the day. It's a nice sentiment (but no, it shouldn't be the only day you appreciate loved ones).

I've been thinking about Sophie a lot, she's been going through so much with Doreen, and she's been so strong and brave. Things are finally starting to get better, so it may be the light at the end of a tunnel, but she's still on my mind. It's hard not having someone, but it's got to be even harder to have someone and be in fear of losing them forever.

I had 21 inches of snow in my area yesterday, although completely light and fluffy, so a relatively easy clean up. Always nice! It's been such a great winter, there's really no room to complain (even with the recent deep freeze). I'm looking forward to spring this year... windows opening, warmer breezes.

Here's some questions/answers for you:
1. What is the oldest object in the room with you?
My antique smoking chair, which I would guess is at least 60-70 years old (and it's matching ottoman.)
2. What is the newest?
I'll have to do it by "new into my home" since there's no way to know when anything I have was actually manufactured. Would probably be a pair of shoes that were shipped to me. Got them about 2 weeks ago.
3. What is your favorite object in the room with you?
I like so many things... coffee table, paint on my walls, da' boyz. :)
4. What is the most valuable object?
To me? The boys, no question at all. If we're talking money, eh... there's nothing over the top, maybe the computer if you had to label it.
5. What is the ugliest object?
I think it might be these dark wicker drawer things I have. I sort of hate them, but I don't have enough money/space to buy the furniture I'd want, so for now... they remain.

Saturday, February 4

Work-a-day world.

Yes... a long week of work and trying hard to get out from under a pile of clothing that's stacked up. I have WAY too many clothes, but I can't part with most of them, so I really need to find a new way to get them organized. My bedroom is a mess because of the clothing explosion, so this is quickly becoming a high priority for me.

We have an event this weekend, which I'm sort of looking forward to. I had a really good time at the last one, even got to flirt with a couple of real live boys for a change, and if I had even half of that sort of girl fun this time around I'd be happy. :)

I've been totally digging my Net*flix membership. I'm not going through as many movies as I thought I would, mostly just because I've been busy, but it's really neat to have them waiting for me when I get the time. Right now I have Spang*lish, Pira*tes of the Car., and .... hmm, something else, can't seem to think of what it is over there.

Anyway, if you have any random suggestions, let me know. I love documentaries, and have a bunch on my list, but if you have any you like, let me know and I'll check them out. :)

Have a GREAT weekend kids!!
