Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Thursday, February 24

Just watched it.

Yes, there was much hub-bub about the episode of CSI this week, and I just finished watching it. I don't have too much to comment on, overall it was pretty much as I expected and handled the same way they've handled many other "counter" interests on the show in the past.

First comment, the woman who "did" it was a little too pathetic fat girl for my taste. Although I think much of it was real, and typical, I didn't like the poor put-upon angle, and wish it was a woman of more confidence and substance that did the main speaking.

Second, no way in hell that is what kills him. As someone who's been on top of guys, and done squashing, any conscious man could easily get me off of him - even if I was passed out. You just have to wriggle a bit, or lift her arm and just one little shove would set escape in motion. (Funny, John (Heather's guy) just called me and we discussed the exact same "issues" we had - mode of death totally not possible).

Huh, after all my talking with John I forgot what my last thing was, but good enough. I really liked how they wrapped up the show with Greg paging through fat girl ads, which was especially fun because he'd had several comments in the show that sort of showed his "interested" side. Good to see. :)

I'm always asking for something!! (not for me this time!)

Okay, you're probably going to roll your eyes, and that's ok. I found this auction tonight when I was poking around ebay. Now, I stress, this is NOT a forward or something that someone told me about. I stumbled upon it while searching for some photo backdrops, this woman happened to be selling a couple.

Anyway, she has a kitty (she has 5 animals actually, all adopted when she was an animal rescue worker) who has a degenerative condition in his eye, which will probably require a special surgery to remove the eye so it doesn't kill him (rather, so that he doesn't have to be killed.)

If you don't love animals or don't give a crap, that's ok, don't bother going and reading her story.

But as the owner of two really great little boys (Orange and Grey for those of you new to this), I can't imagine possibly having to put one down just because of money. I certainly wouldn't let anyone buy them from me, there is no price that would replace them, so you can't imagine the possibility that money could play a role in whether they live or die. If you've ever loved a pet... I just figured I'd put this out there. You can donate as little as 3 dollars, so there is no big, huge risk for you. And yes, I have donated.

Thanks for considering it. This is the auction listing.

Elliot's eye surgery ***if you tried this before and it said auction had ended, please click again, I updated the link to reflect her new auction. Her quantity on the last was only about 1/4 of the money she needed, this time she's got a higher quantity in there so the auction won't run out***

Thanks for reading. :)

Okay, I was asked another question by Sara:

Have I ever been attracted to women? (I'm paraphrasing here, sorry Sara, I don't have the window in front of me).
I have found several women very attractive, and in a way that I guess could label me "curious", but nothing I'd really consider acting on. Basically, I can appreciate why people find women sexy, and there have been a handful of women in my life that I've thought "If I were into it, I'd be ALLLLLL over her."

I guess I like guys too much to make the leap... lol. :) But I have women who write to me as admirers, and I find it really flattering and very nice. The attraction of a women sometimes means even a little bit more, just because I know they appreciate other women in a very different way.

Hope that answered you. :)

Question time! :)

Well, I mentioned in the last post that you guys could ask me something if you'd like, and a couple of people did, so here are my answers.

1. What made you decide to do freelance graphic design?
I decided to go freelance because the bottom really fell out of the job market here about 3 years ago. I was working at a place that had layoffs, which led me to a contract position at another company. When that ended, I needed to do something, so I took a couple of freelance jobs, and have (so far!) been fortunate enough to keep it going and pay the bills. It's very, very difficult sometimes, and the week to week paycheck is definately missed. I don't know if I'll do it forever, but for now it's working out for me. :)

2. The last good book you read: what was it?
The very last book I read was "He's J*ust Not Th*at In*to You," which I had mentioned in an earlier entry. It's about being realistic about what is and is not happening when you're meeting and dating people, etc. Sort of funny, really. I enjoyed it.
The two I read prior to that are Corpse- which is all about the origins of autopsy and the accuracy of time of death, etc. (Yes, grim, but I enjoy forensics.)And the other was Al Frank*en's Lies...etc. Great read and just genuinely funny.

3. What are your feelings on pornography?
I have no issue with pornography. I think that what people enjoy or do in their home is their business, as long as it's not of an illegal or obviously immoral activity. As for those who produce it (which I suppose I could easily be lumped in), again... totally their business and choice. What you do isn't always a definition of what you are.
I have dated guys who are into it and not, and the only thing I can say is that if there HAS to porn present to have a sexual relationship, then there is a problem (and I don't think it's the porn, it's the person who needs the porn.)

4. Ann Marie, do you ever meet potential dates at the dances you are part of?
This is a hard question. I don't usually make "dates" for the events, because generally I'm working (granted, not hard work, but we're watching what is going on, being available for questions, etc) and that makes it hard to socialize in a first date type of scenario. Plus, to be honest, who the hell wants to bring a first date to a place that's loaded with the type of chicks he might want to date? Seems like a recipe for disaster to me. I have met a couple of guys at the events that I found interesting, but nothing ever came of it...either due to lack of interest on their part, or lack of ability to go up and speak to them on my part. I'm super shy, can never initiate a talk with someone I find attractive/interesting, etc.

Now, if I'm seeing someone, it's totally different, and I have no problem bringing someone along with me. They can hang with my friends, talk, drink, dance... no problem. I know they are with me, so it's not an issue if they're just having fun and taking in the sights. :)

In regular news - Another big ol nor'easter coming my way on Thursday. Will this ever end?? Yes!! That's the good part, I know the days of snow are limited, so we'll just muddle through. Only 15 inches coming this time though, should be a breeze. :)

Tuesday, February 1

Hi!

I meant to do a little checkin here yesterday, but the day got away from me. So, here I am.

Last week was just one blizzard, followed by another storm, followed by a dead battery in my car :(, and interspersed with lots of work. Fun, fun.

The weekend was GREAT just because I finally got to leave the house and be among the three dimensional people for a while. We had an event Saturday night, huge turnout so it was a lot of fun. I think people are just sick of being snowbound... I know I was among them.

We have another one this weekend in Worcester, so it's a regular social high-time right now with events. I'm hoping the weather continues to cooperate.

Have you seen the trailer for the new Ke*anu movie? I haven't paid much attention, but it just looks like Mat*rix goes to Hell to me. Same damn look, moves, effects, just a few more creepy crawler things.

I wish there was more going on, but I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Want to ask me something? Feel free.

Here is a Fri*day five to beef up the entry:
1. Would you rather have a picnic in the park or eat at a fancy restaurant? I actually really enjoy both, but it's all about the mood. I like picnics on a nice day, with a table! LOL I don't really like the bugs. :)

2. Would you rather live in LA, NYC, or Chicago? Ugh, I really don't want to live any of these places, but I guess I'd pick LA and hope that I could choose an outskirt of it rather than right in it.

3. Would you rather watch ABC, CBS, or NBC? This question is just weird... I watch whatever channel my most preferred show at that time happens to be on. I could give a crap which network is carrying it, and many times it's not any of these 3.

4. Would you rather live in the mountains or by the ocean? I love being by the shore.

5. Would you rather watch tennis or play tennis? Wow, these are random. Well, I used to play tennis when I was younger and I enjoyed it. I really don't like watching it, so I guess in that sense I'd rather play... but at this rate, probably neither. It just doesn't hold much interest for me anymore.

Okay, those were just odd.
