Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

30 inches, good lordy!!

Yes, that's how much snow I got over the weekend, and it's really just amazing to look at. They spent the better part of today hauling it away in trucks. With our temperatures hovering around zero, there is no other way it's going to be gone anytime soon, so trucks are the only answer if you want to drive around or park anywhere. :)

I'm working hard for the past few weeks, and slowly but surely things are getting done. I wish I was further along, but I'm doing all I can, so at least I know I'm getting there. I wish I had a clone that I could train to work at night while I sleep. Now THAT would be helpful!! :)

Hmmm, I wish I had something else to report, but it's very much about the snow and work here in AnnMarie-land. I think it could be weeks before there is much going on that adds any flavor to these days.

We'll see, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by something fun or different. You never know! Life is great like that.

:)

Snowy night.

Hello everyone, hope you've been having a nice weekend so far. :) Things here are fine, I've been working really hard for the past week, and this week coming will be much the same. That's why I haven't been around a bit more on here. I'm just relaxing right now with a nice bowl of warm chowder and the tv, so I figured I'd take a minute to say hello. :)

The snow tonight is the coating type.... just falls and stays right where it lands, and it's very windy. It's quite a white and blustery winter landscape out there. I'm glad I'm inside, cozy and warm with the cats.

I think I'll take a minute to comment on some shows I watch, I haven't done that in a long time.

I'm really enjoying life/as/we/know/it. It's just a teenager-type show, but the writing is really good, and the storyline is pretty adult in many respects. I just record it to watch later, but I am surprised to be enjoying it as much as I have been. Something you may want to check out if you were curious about it.

Right now I'm watching Boston Leg*al. I used to be a huge fan of The Pra*ctice, and this show is the continuation-sort of. James Spad*er's character is the main reason for watching. It's got some quick dialogue and I always enjoy that. William Shat*ner is playing an interesting character as well, so it's a pretty good twisty drama on Sunday nights.

I'm a big NY*PD Bl*ue fan, and have been watching this season since it's the last. I'll be sad to see that one go, I really have enjoyed that series completely.

Lastly, Extre*me Mak*eover Home Ed*ition. If you haven't seen this show, I don't really know what to say. If you ever want to see unreal transformations, and honest-to-God feel good stories of people who really need and deserve help - or maybe you just need a good ol' fashioned cry (even the guys I know cry at this show, it's that moving) - you need to check it out. The Monday episode of "how did they do it" type is ok, but it's not the meat and potatoes of the show. You need to see the Sunday episodes for that stuff.

I'm going to watch the snow fall for a while. Night. :)

Tsunami aid donations.

1-800-HELPNOW or www.redcross.org

Please donate something. Anything. The money donated to the above sources goes directly to the American Red Cross, and 94% of the money goes directly to the victims of the south Asia disaster.

I know it's hard to find the funds, but there are millions who've lost everything, EVERYTHING. You may have little, but it's the world to them. Anything will help.

Give if you can, please.

Time to vote, but fun this time!

Okay, I'm asking, but of course... no pressure.

I'm in a competition at missbbw.com, along with a lot of other beautiful bigrls'... the pictures are free, full size, and there are a bunch, so even if you don't want to vote for anyone, just check it out.

http://www.missbbw.com/competitions/current

If you do want to vote, it will ask you for an email address, send you a verification email that you'll need to reply to. I know that's a pain, but it's to curb any possible cheating. They don't spam you or any of that stuff.

Okay, that's all for now... and if you didn't notice, there is a new picture up for the SnapShot (went up on Sunday... little late).

In other news, my lovely friend Skye and her hubby, Skye's guy, sent me a present today. THE GIANT SOCK MON*KEY!!! oh my, he's so big, and so cute, and he's just staring at me while I type. The cats just don't know what to make of him, and he's just taking it all in stride. He'll need a name, I'll have to work on that one.

I was having a very stressful, freakin' out kind of day over work and the like... and to find his happy face waiting for me downstairs was just the thing I needed. He's the best. But not as good as my friends. :)

Wednesday, January 5

Happy new year!!!

:)

I'm home, recovered from the weekend (just the smoke and being tired, no drinking for me). It was a nice event, really busy Friday night, quieter on Saturday, but everyone seemed to have a really good time - which is our main goal.

I got a bunch of neat stuff for Xmas, but a couple that I wanted to mention specifically. One was a new slowcooker, and man, I guess there is a learning curve!!
I went to make my corn chowder last night, and I burned the hell out of it while it was cooking over night (got all brown and carmelized, dried out - nuts). I had a small 4qt cooker, now I have a big ol 6.5 qt that's got a bit more advanced timers and all that... and I think it cooks a bit hotter. I just "re" made the chowder, and it only has been cooking about 6 hours (and a double batch, mind you) and it's pretty much done. Yay me, good dinner and a bit quicker! So, I figured I'd mention that to anyone using my recipe, the slowcooker/crock that you use can really impact the results, so watch the spuds closely. :)

Another good present I got was a very geeky thing. I've never played video games much, and have never even attempted to play them online, but now... well, that's all changed. Heather and John got me Wo*rld of Wa*rcr*aft for a present. I can totally see how people get addicted to these things. I haven't played too much yet, keeping it under control, and I'm still very low level (almost a 10 right now), but I'm enjoying learning about what to do, where to go, how to use my character's skills and all that jazz. It's so damn geeky. I am sorry to have to say goodbye to my ability to laugh and point at gamers (although I still could, techically they wouldn't KNOW I have the game)... hee hee.

If anyone plays and is on a similar level, give me an email and maybe we can help eachother out. My friends play, and I'm a guild member already, but they're WAYYYYY ahead of me, so I can't really do any quests with them.

Okay... hmm, what else?
Ohh! I forgot to mention a while ago that I got some really nice Christmas cards (thank you Mark and Victor) and I also got a HUGE shipment of MandM's from someone... a complete nut I must assume. He sent me 4 3lbs bags! Let's just say I have enough to keep me munching for a long, long time. I've barely made a dent in the first bag, and I've had them for about a month. :) LOL

Okay, I'm off to check my dinner... have a good night everyone. :)
