Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Lots to do, but had to check in!

Hi!!!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays so far, and that you have some good plans for New Years.

I suppose this is the place I should pause regarding the unbelievably horrific events of our world in the past 4 days, but honestly, there is little I could say to even touch on how much I feel about it all. It's huge, the things that become numbered sections in science texts of 3015 - the day the earth took back. I don't know how else to cover it, and there is no way to even begin, so I guess I'll leave it at that for now. I send my thoughts and best wishes to those involved, this will be a life-as-we-know-it changing experience for millions of people around the world.

Back to nonsense.

I had a very nice Christmas with family and friends, and stocked up on some cool kitchen stuff (a much larger crockpot so I'm not overflowing while creating chowder and such), and a bundt cake pan (yay), and I also got a mmorpg game from my friends (Heather and John). I'm scared to say the least.

I played at their house for a bit, and it's pretty fun, but so far at home my computers aren't "quite" up to the task. I have to do a system upgrade on my Mac (not a biggie, I was overdue anyway). I upgraded the ram a bit, and I think that should take care of it. We'll see if my video card is up to the task when I get everything installed. I attempted to run it on my laptop, and it's "ok" but not good... it's real choppy and I'm already hit about 3 times before I can turn around and hit something back. That's just not going to work.

Okay, geek talk over.http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif

I have a very, very long weekend coming up for , and I'm only half looking forward to it. Right now, I'd rather stay home and goof off with the kitties, but it's one of those things... gotta do it. We're starting on Thursday night (God help us), and ending on Sunday afternoon. I will be long done by then, I can assure you. It will be a ton of fun for the people attending, as always, but I'm just tired and not feeling it this time around... that usually changes when I'm there, so let's hope that's the case this time around.

Okay... I'm off. I have a bit of packing to do and work, and errands, and even a bit of wrapping! I guess that's all for now folks, have a great New Year and I'll talk to you next year.

(Nooooo, of course I couldn't resist!!)

Thursday, December 23

'twas the night before the night before.

Well, I recovered nicely from my late xmas start. I have all my shopping done, thank goodness! I have a lot of wrapping to do, but I think I'll conquer that tomorrow and get my car loaded up.

I'm heading to Xmas day with my family, then off to Western MA for a little gathering among friends at Heather and John's house. We're having a big ol' slumber party there, so that should be fun.

Then it's back here for a week of a LOT Of work, then off to a very long weekend for our events. We're going from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon this time... whew. I'm going to be tired and glad to come home after all that.

Happy holidays to you and yours, and I will do my best to get a picture of the week up this week. I missed last week, I know. :)

Stay safe... :)

KK in my supermarket??

Oh yes, it's true. The nearest KK to me is about 45 mins, but today I ran into the supermarket to grab a few things, and there they were. In a display case, delivered fresh every morning. Ooooo, so excited. I picked up a few to bring home. No need to get too many, after all they're right around the corner now!!!

Mmmm, doughnut goodness. (I'm such a freakin' lightweight, I had two of them and I feel sick already).

Sooo, glad you all enjoyed the tidbits... neat. Something I'll drop in from time to time when things occur to me. Feel free to share any of your own in the comments. I always find this stuff interesting. The "life is in the details" stuff. :)

Tomorrow is the annual party and gift exchange at Deidra's house, so that should be fun. It's potluck, so I have to get cooking tomorrow - going to bring along a rice and red beans with kielbasa dish.. simple but good, and different from things I usually bring (homemade baked mac and cheese, etc).

I have done a "little" bit of shopping, but not nearly enough, so hopefully I'll find some time next week to finish up.

We're supposed to get some snow (we'll see, there are two possible scenarios here) on Monday. Could either be a little, or a DUMP... ugh, I'm not up for the blizzard, hopefully it will be manageable.

:)

Tidbits about me.

I figured whoever reads this might enjoy knowing some different things about me, and I thought I'd start sharing as I thought of them. This may suck, so let me know and if it does I won't bother with additional segments. :) LOL

1. Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah gives me chills, goose bumps, and makes me cry. It's simply amazing to listen to, you can feel it inside.

2. Richard Dreyfuss and Gene Hackman really, really, really bug me. To the extent that I have major issues watching anything they're in.

3. I dislike pearl onions in a major way, but regular onions don't bother me.

4. One very good friend knows this, but in case it should ever come up... I do NOT want to buried at sea. Under any circumstances.

5. Rap and R&B are my guilty pleasures (she says as Limp B*iskit and Wu T*ang plays).

6. I'm not an angel - really.

7. I really, really like tiny food. Minis, bites, whatever.

8. I drink Crystal L*ight iced tea almost exclusively at home.

9. I have never smoked a cigarette (or anything for that matter) in my life.

10. I hate letting people down.

Okay, that's all for now, I'll add to it when I think of things.

:)

Thursday, December 9

All quiet on the eastern front.

Sorry I haven't written much the last week, but there is zipppppp going on here.

I've been working quite a bit, but still not enough compared to the amount of work I need to get done before Christmas rolls around.

As for Christmas, I've done nothing. Not a single present, no cards, no ideas for presents. I'm not "there" yet, and given the date, not sure I'm going to get there. I'm planning to do Christmas cookies tomorrow afternoon, so we'll see if that helps the spirit along. :)

I hope you're all having a jolly jolly, and I'm going to do my best to get in the spirit along with you.
