Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Phriday Phive (deliberate, I haven't gone over the edge)

I have seen this in tons of blogs, and I never bothered, but I figured what the f*ck. Who knows, maybe it will be interesting, or stupid, who knows... but it will be another entry at the very least.

Okay, here we go.

You have just won one million dollars:

1. Who do you call first?
My mom.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
Freedom from debt, but THEN....A brand new CAR, which I would drive to the airport and buy a ticket to Vegas, and CA!!! (right now it would be a V*lkswagen Tou*areg or the new Phae*ton) I know they asked the first thing, but these things would all happen so close together, you'd be hard pressed to say what came first. ; )

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
A brand new CAR!!!! (for Pey, she needs one)

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Yes, I'd give some away, but to whom would depend on where the need was at the time. Definately my parents, even though they don't really need it... I owe it to them in more ways than I can count.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
I would invest, but probably just set up an aggressive portfolio with an investment house for a retirement fund. Boring, but practical. A million won't go as far as you think.

Ohh, and if you're wondering about my st*ars in words, it's to avoid search hits for things like that. I don't need the average Joe and Schmo in my little world because they were looking for info on a new car. :)

Here's an interesting little quiz I took (found the link on Gil's blog entry). It's an ethical philosophy quiz, and here are my results:

1. Jean-Paul Sartre (100%)
2. Spinoza (94%)
3. John Stuart Mill (83%)
4. Kant (80%)
5. Jeremy Bentham (79%)
6. Aquinas (74%)
7. Stoics (67%)
8. David Hume (53%)
9. Aristotle (52%)
10. Prescriptivism (49%)
11. St. Augustine (49%)
12. Ayn Rand (44%)
13. Nietzsche (43%)
14. Thomas Hobbes (41%)
15. Cynics (40%)
16. Epicureans (40%)
17. Nel Noddings (40%)
18. Ockham (34%)
19. Plato (31%)

You can find the quiz at http://selectsmart.com/PHILOSOPHY/

I can't say I'm sold on the results, Sartre and I aren't exactly bed-buddies on all his bullet points, but hey... it's an online quiz. Not much else to say there.

I Wanna Shoo-ooo-ooo-ooooooot The Whole Day Down.

Mondays. They just keep coming and coming. February is right around the corner.

It's so damn cold here, and I know I keep saying that. I'm not a wimpy girl, I grew up in New England, I get the whole "winter" thing, but this is just unreal... I can't recall a winter like this. The only saving grace is that we've escaped a TON of snow, but there is a storm coming in a few days I think, so we'll see how well we fare with that.

I had a nice weekend... on Saturday I went and had some pictures taken with Dee and Jim. I did two sets, one came out nice (although they seem dark, and that's bumming me out) and the other set is pretty crappy. I'm disappointed in them, through no fault of anyone but myself, the outfit and backdrop just didn't work. It was supposed to be enough for an update, but now I'm only going to be able to use them for a few pics of the week... ah well, better than nothing.

Saturday night we had an event, that went well, and were joined by about 200 people. That's a good crowd for winter, it's harder to get people out in the cold. I didn't bring my suit along, but we had some swimming afterwards... I was wishing I had brought it. I was supposed to hang out with a friend who ended up having some car trouble, so I hit the sack relatively early.

Sunday I left the hotel and headed out to lunch with a friend. It was nice, I LOVE going out to eat, but between the weather and my chest cold, I haven't been out to a restaurant for a meal since the end of November!!! Hard to believe, but true. I was damn happy to have a nice meal, waitress, and all the choices. :) Yum.

I headed home in the afternoon, and planned to work, but lost energy and vegged out in the afternoon. The kitties were happy to have me home, or at least they appeared to be.

I worked all day today, and I think now I'm going to go down and make myself some food... maybe some cheese tortellini and sweet Italian chicken sausages (love that!).

I had been looking forward to a Cancun trip that was supposed to happen in April, but I found out last week that it's been cancelled. I'm disappointed about that, I was really looking forward to that trip. I'm hoping to schedule something in it's place... we'll see how that goes.

Hang in there this week! :)

New look for new year.

I spent the past couple of days doing a face lift on a couple of pages on the site. I had to reorganize the main picture page in order to get any new sets for 2004 listed, so I completely stripped it, added years into drop menus and now everything seems to fit well. Hopefully it's full functional for everyone, and will make things a bit clearer to navigate.

Of course after doing that page, the home page didn't really "go" anymore, so I revamped that as well. I must say, it's now more in line with my own fashion than anything I've had previously (it's "me"). THEN I restyled the About Me page because that needed work after being much neglected.

Soooo, everything is looking spiffed up, and ready for a new year and new sets. I'm really hoping to be able to get pictures on a more regular basis this year, and that will help me keep things updated on a more regular basis. It's just hard to keep things going when the content isn't at hand.

I am finally (well, last night... I probably shouldn't get too excited) starting to sleep a little better. I passed out last night, woke up about 3 hours later, but without the huge breathing distress I've been having (asthma), and then fell back to sleep and slept pretty soundly for hours. It's a welcome change and I just hope it keeps up.

I am going to try to get an update posted in the next few days, although I haven't decided if it will be a movie clip or a new set..... still thinking on that one.

Friday, January 16

Heya folks.

Well, not to harp on the same old subjects, butttttt..... I'm still coughing and have a really bad throat (I've taken meds, I still do, it's just slow going and really draining on my psyche after months now), it's FREEZING here and the cats are nutso.

It's actually well below freezing. In fact, we'd have to go up 33 degrees to hit freezing, and by tomorrow morning we'll need to add about 40 degrees. I pretty much just haven't gone out in it, although I did have to run an errand today. It's pretty bad when you look around the city and it LOOKS cold. The roads are bright white due to salt and frozen ground, every car is chugging smoke, people are even driving around with scarves wrapped around their faces! It's super cold. Suppposedly we'll be back to 30 or so by Monday, so bathing suit weather is just around the corner! :0

Well, my laptop PC, the one I use at night usually when I'm just doing nothing online, is pretty much officially dead now. It's not a huge loss because I really don't use it for much other than wasting time, etc... but it's when I usually catch up on email, pop into Dim chat and stuff like that, so it's put a rather large crimp in my online patterns. If you've written to me, be patient, I will get around to going through things. I guess I'm going to have to figure something out... either wipe that laptop and try a fresh start, or invest in a new something or other for putzing around at night. I don't have the money to do much of anything, and I don't even have a 98/2e install disc to get the damn thing wiped. I'm in a pickle.

I did a very little bit of work on the site, changed my buttons (the little ones on the bottom of my pics pages, etc) to something a bit more in tune with the look of the site as it exists now. The ones that were there previously were lingering from about 3 years ago, and I HATED them, but there never seems to be a good time for doing those stupid little things. Tonight I found the time. I'm not in love with the new ones either, but they're a huge improvement. Ideally I'd love to do the whole damn site over, but it's just too big now to do much with unless it's a complete overhaul that would take me a long time. I don't see the energy coming.

Okay, that about brings me up to date here - I hope you're all hunkering down in the cold areas, snuggled up under the blankets and riding out the icy breezes. For those of you in the warmer climates... well.... screw ya. ;P

Colder than Alaska??

Oh yes, you read that right... it is colder in the northeast right now than it is in Alaska. That is just not right. It's currently a balmy 4 degrees (F) here in MA, and boy if that doesn't get the blood chilled into a gel-like substance.

Just watched a rather silly little show that happened to be guest starring Ty P*ennington (a good enough reason for me to watch anything).

After 8 weeks of a chest cold, I think I am finally rounding the corner on it and heading back in the direction of being able to breath. Buy stock in Robi*tussin folks, I'm lining their pockets right now.

I got my new foam mattress thingy, and my bed is suuuuper comfy now so I think I'm going to head upstairs with the kitties and watch Clean Swe*ep in bed.

Night!
