Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Happy Halloween!!!!!

I'm sitting here waiting for some clarification on a work project, eating Parmesean goldfish in my underwear. Wait, they're not in my underwear, I'm wearing underwear and eating them. Whew!! That was close.

Okay, sooooo... it's Halloween, and I have to do my picture update tonight... and I have NOTHING Halloween related. So, either divine inspiration will hit me before it's too late, or it will be a completely unthemed picture... which is ok too. It's just more fun to have one when it's actually ON the day. Hmm... thinking.

I should probably be running errands during this "down time".... maybe I'll get my ass in gear and do just that.

:)

Sunday, October 27

Back from the NEC-NAAFA All Out Fall Out Weekend... whew... tired. It was a great turnout... almost 300 people at the party last night, and I'd say probably 95% in costume... which is just so cool. :)

I'm off to nap... hopefully later when I get up I will be in the mood for some Krispy Kremes... (hee hee... Sophie brought them up from CT!)

Later. :)

Treats.

Personal intake limit on Halloween-sized KitKats: 6. Bleck... I'm officially off those for a while.

Speaking of treats... someone sent me some!! Yay!!! Thank you soooo much, you know who you are. :) I didn't get them yet, but soon enough I hope... I'm so excited. It's my first mail sweets! :) *doing a happy dance*

On another sweet treat note, if you want to see the beginning of a list I put together of fun online treats, you can go to my new TREATS page. I put the list together of things I happen to like, but really it's just a nice little list of things you can send to family, people you're dating, etc. Check it out.

Bitch and candy.

Soooo, you know this is a free site, right?? Well, I just want to make sure you all realize that though it's free for you... it's FAR from free for me. Now more than ever. If you have ever tried to host a website, with any level of heavy traffic, which mine has, you know the costs. Hosting costs in the past year have gone through the roof. Bandwidth is the killer. It's nuts.

So I just found a new hosting company (the one I was with, am still with for the next few days) could only keep me if I was willing to give them 450 dollars for the year, and that plan was already probably too small for the bandwidth. I am not in a financial place where I can pay that. So I shopped around, found something around half of that (still a good chunk of change).

Now, you may be saying "stop your bitching, you run the site... it's your choice". And I don't disagree. I'm not saying "see what I do for you??", it's more of a "be aware how hard it is to keep these up and running" and keep in mind why soooo many girls turn to running paysites as the only alternative. I was close to shutting the site down, but I'm not ready to say goodbye to it yet... it's up because I want it to be, and I hope that it's still viewed, enjoyed and maybe continues to enlighten a few stray visitors. :)

Okay, sooooo now about the candy. :)
I finally got a new mailing address and I want some candy!!! Shameless begging? Sure, why not. If there has ever been a moment where you've said "hmm, I'd really like to send her a little gift" - here's your shot. One of my favorite candy houses is Harbot Sweets in Salem, MA and I just found out they are online, and you can order everything there. I'm just going to put up the link and my mailing address. I am mainly interested in their Sweet Sloops (which are the best things ever if you like toffee and white chocolate), and the peanut butter chocolates (which are great as well, but still second to the Sloops). If you don't want to send me any, it's fine really... but if you like good chocolate, get some for yourself!!! They're great. Oh.. they do not ship outside of the United States, but you can order from outside the states and have them shipped to someone in the states (send them to your sweetie online, or your long distance girlfriend guys, they're goooood. :)

I honestly don't think I'll get a morself of treats, but I just wanted to let you know about them. A friend of mine, FATSophie suggested I put together a page of links with treats I like... lol... I thought that might be a funny idea. I might just do it.

Okay, in case you're nuts enough to send me candy, my new mailing address is:
AnnMarie
39 Dodge Street #154
Beverly, MA 01915

:)
Hope you're all enjoying things, and if the site has any downtime in the next few days... the impending move is why. Thanks for the patience.

Sunday, October 13

1) It's MY TURN.

2) Scott tissue sucks. It's one step up from wax paper.

These are completely unrelated thoughts, but I really just needed to get them out.

And another... on a 11pm news blurb I just heard... "Learn how a group calling themselves The Guardian Angels is helping calm fears in the DC area". I have trouble with this on a couple of levels. Number one - calling themselves?? This is not a NEW group... they've sort of "been around" for like 30 years?? Number two - last time I checked, Guardian Angels were not bullet proof, so I'm not sure what help they can offer down there to calm the fears brought on by a "crazed gunman". I suppose they will end up being bright red targets.

Okay, over and out.

Saturday, October 5

Turn the tables in your favor.

My friend discovered the coolest thing today. I will warn you before you proceed that this is pro-choice related, so if that's an issue for you... you may not want to read it.

While browsing the Planned Parenthood site, my friend stumbled upon a really interesting idea (which she called fucking brilliant, and I have to agree it's pretty cool.) They have anti-abortion protestors on the first Saturday of every month, and they started a program called "Pledge-a-Picket". What is this you ask??

Pledge a Picket is a pledge system where donations are given based on dollar amount assigned to each person who shows up to picket. So if you pledge 10$ a person, and 20 people show up to picket, you donate $200. I just think this idea is fantastic.

The thought of a picketer trying to figure out the worth of showing up, when they know money is being donated based on their appearance... it's just a classic struggle.

Okay, enough for now... :)
