Day-to-Day Doings I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Where have I been??
Ah yes... sorry about that folks. I have literally had NOTHING to share... not a damn thing. I still don't, but I figured I had better check in here anyway. I was getting more and more emails wondering if all was well, and it is. :)
I've been doing a good deal of freelance work, thank goodness!! :) I have another job starting this week, and hopefully more coming... so it's nice to be keeping busy. But I really need to get a desk chair... I'm dying. I've been working sitting on a dining room chair at my computer desk... after a few hours I can feel my back breaking, and my leg falls asleep... not an ideal working situation. I think a wee bit of my first invoice is going to have to go to that item.
I made a cake tonight, golden... and it will be dressed up with a white creamy coconut frosting... mmm, can't wait. I have the hungry horrors today... I had a small cheese pizza, then went out and bought my cake mix, and stopped to pick up some pork fried rice on the way home. It's all I've had today, but I sure am making up for lost time tonight. :) LOL
I've always wondered when my kitchen was going to be like my mom's kitchen. It never is. Everytime I want to make something I have to buy almost every single ingredient to get the job done. My mom's kitchen was magic... we could make anything anytime we wanted. I could probably call her now and say "I'd really like a chicken pie" and she'd have it all... crust included. I just don't get it. The only thing I can figure is that is just appeared like everything was there.... because it's mom. I just didn't see the behind the scenes scrambling to get dinner made, etc.
Well, either way... I like the illusion of that magic kitchen. And of course it's mom's... they always have everything you need. :)
I haven't been playing with Hot or Not as much lately... I got bored. But I still get messages, etc... so I thought I'd at least go and update my picture. I've completely altered my idea on being very conservative about it.... So I'm up, and I'm sure with a full length, etc... I'll get bashed to holy hell, but whatever. If there is one FA browsing about, it might make his day. Worth it?? Sure, why not.
Well after I did it, they have this thing I never noticed before... where you can put a little link on your site with java code - (ok, turns out the java doesn't work in the blog, so here is an HTML version... my rating won't be automatically updated, and no picture, but you can click the RATE ME line to see that.)
I'm not sure if it will work in the blog, but I'm going to try it. I have had more than a handful of people email and tell me that they've looked around for my profile on the site and have never found it, etc... so there you go, now hopefully you will find me. This also shows a little graph so you can see how the votes come in... like that huge 1 column?? LOL Anyway, there is an option on there to go rate me, and feel free. But please, don't go over and over again, etc.. I don't want to get an excessively skewed number because of "padding". Hmm, well... because of MY padding would be ok, but not vote padding. :)
Sorry about the lack of blog updates, I've been having some trouble publishing too it... and ask you can see, my archives are all missing for some reason. I'm still trying to work out why.
Yes, the day is here... I've been waiting patiently for the new season of Trading Spaces to begin and it's here. Tonight there are two brand new episodes scheduled, at 8 and 9 EST and I can't wait. The big news??? Supposedly two new designers added to the mix this season, which I think is good because although I enjoy watching the designers on there now, it will be really good to mix up the styles a bit... get away from the expected and add a whole new variable into the mix. I hope none are as bad as Dez Ryan was (you won't recall her unless you're hardcore like me and used to watch when Alex was still the host - although you may have caught her in a repeat, I believe she was "let go".)
Anyway... I'm very excited. And best part is the rerun of Makeover Story with Ty (Ty Pennington, my number one guy... top of my list, head of the class!! I love Ty.) It's the best episode ever... you get to see his belly 2-3 times.... oh my. I'm going to tape it.
Well first, what's up with Dimensions?? Obviously there is some major malfunction, we're now on two days with no chat, no board, etc. It was getting to me last night, today I'm in full on "aaahhhhh" mode.
Over time it's been discussed... the END of Dimensions Online, what that would mean, etc. But I really don't think people realize how much we use it, what a valuable resource the site is, what a community of people gather there, and how much it becomes part of your online habits. I've always been clear about how much I enjoy being a part of that group, and I really feel strongly that in order to help it thrive you must participate, and contribute, and SUBSCRIBE. The print magazine is still an unbelievable treat, and paying something to contribute to the community is the least that can be done in order to back up the use of the site. Many do not fully appreciate the complete labor of love that some websites are, and that one more than most. Huge costs, high traffic, many complaints, constant striving for improvement for users. It's a wonderful resource. If you enjoy the links, the pictures, the posting, the chat.... any or all of it, remember to post a note of thanks to Conrad, or drop him an email. I'm sure it would be a pleasant change of pace for him to get a friendly thank you.
Changing gears.... I went to Ames today. For those of you who don't know what Ames is, it's sort of a department store, discounty in nature, sort of KMart-y.They are going out of business, so I wanted to stop in for some paints, etc. So I'm pushing a carriage around, walking down the aisles... and I passed a little boy in a carriage (he's probably 4), with his mom.I headed into the next aisle.
Now if you're a fat girl, you know that kids in stores tend to share their gut reactions... "Mom, she's so fat!!" "Look at that fat lady!" "Wow!!!" "Oh my God, Mom LOOK!" - Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
What made this time different was it wasn't my OVERALL size that sent this kid's mind reeling, it was my bum. Yes... my bum. Even at his tender young age he was able to identify my rather large bottom. I got to the aisle next to them, and of course to him I was "gone", and I hear a quiet "big bummm", and I thought... nah, that's not what I heard. And a second later, a louder "big BUM", and then another "bigggg buummmmm" - he's singing now. Yeah, I was really enjoying this. Thank God it was a mostly empty store, and I don't think his mother even saw me, so I don't think she realized what was happening. Well, she pushed him around the corner into my aisle and he stopped when he saw me - but then the staring started. He was in complete awe, riveted to me (and I purposely stayed turned face front so he couldnt' see the biiiiggg bummmmm). FA or circus-goer? Only time will tell. :)
It was a busy and a bit nutty weekend, and I've been doing a bunch of freelance work since then, so I've been a bit "out of reach."
The Heavenly Bodies Labor Day Weekend was GREAT. A huge success thanks to the diligence and downright foolishness at times of my fearless leader, Heather. The turnout was huge, with over 300 people on Saturday night, over 150 on Sunday (which is a historically slow evening on bash weekends... ). People had a great time, participated in our scavenger hunt on Sunday afternoon which involved running around the hotel following clues and performing tasks which had to be photographed as evidence (including jumping in the pool in clothes, cramming a team into a bathroom stall, making up a male team member in makeup, etc.). It was so funny watching these people run around and try to beat each other, the teams worked really well together. Bonus for me was that as part of one clue, each team had to bring me a Coke. *snicker*
Hopefully there will be some pictures up soon at LibrasFriends.com - Jim and Dee take great dance pictures, and I think I'm in one or two. Even if the Labor Day images aren't up yet, check it out, they always have fun dance snap shots.
The only downside to the weekend was that Heather took a spill late on Friday and really hurt herself (no cuts/broken bones, just very sore/sprained as far as we could tell right now). Hopefully nothing that time and rest won't put back to normal. That's all I'm saying about it, so please don't ask for details, etc.... it's not my place to discuss.
I've been lucky enough to have some freelance projects, enough to keep me very busy - which has been great, because boy do I need they money. It at least helps out a bit. :) Now I'm just hoping it will keep coming.
Well, I'm off for a bit, need to find myself some lunch/dinner... I've lost all track of time. :)
