Day-to-Day Doings
I read that somewhere. I wrote it down, and then I read it.

Dateline: Atlanta.

Yes, folks... I'm here in Atlanta now. We got to the hotel around 6pm or so, it's been a LOONNNNGGG day of transportation, but I'm really glad to be settled here for a few days before the trek back home begins. Heather, John and I are down here for the Hipsters Weekend Bash, so click there if you want more info. If you are around the Atlanta area, there are dances Friday and Saturday night that anyone can attend, you just pay admission at the door. :)

I wanted to mention that the picture of the week wasn't updated yet... sorry, but I didn't have time to do it before I left on Weds, and now I'm not home with all my "things" to do it from here. I was thinking of trying to get it done, but I can't make any promises. :)

Well, everyone here has started napping, so I think I may take a quick one as well. Bye for now people.

Tuesday, April 23

Well, I've been scrambling around trying to get ready to leave here on Thursday. Atlanta here I come. I hate flying.. anxiety abounds, but it will be fine, just like always. It's a general dislike for it, as well as the small seat thing, etc. I think I'm ok on this trip though. Heather and I are sharing an extra seat on the way down, and on the way back I have a business class seat, which I'm hoping will be enough of a size increase that it will be ok. :)

I'm looking forward to heading down and just chilling out for a bit, getting in some quality pool time, having a few drinks, just being a party girl for a few days.

I was snapping pictures the other night with Heather and I took a "guy picture" (you can see by clicking here.) I often wonder what it is with guys and these poses, I've yet to meet a guy who doesn't have at least one of these.... it's like the "I'm too cool for the camera" look. I don't know, but I think I hit it right on because the guys I've showed it to thus far have had a chuckle. :)

Thursday, April 18

I'ts been a few days... I've been a busy girl. Picked up a freelance job that I've been working on at home, it was 90 degrees here yesterday.... oh the misery!! It was far nicer today, about 66 or so... quite lovely, sunny.

Well, next week I'm off to Atlanta for the Hipsters Atlanta Bash, should be a good time, quite a few people are heading down. I am looking forward to a few days of different scenery and general merriment. :)

Well, I'm heading off for now, I am on my first break for most of the day... and am going to catch much of my favorite show... CSI. :)

McDonald's Chicken Strips.

Okay, I know this is not "pressing" information, but I feel the need to share my overall view of the chicken strip experience until now.

First, the ads. I don't know who the hell McDonald's thinks they are resurrecting that God-awful Spice Girls song to hawk these strips, but for me, it doesn't work. I like chicken, chicken is good. I like strips, strips... good. But my now Pavlovian response to that commercial is "mute, mute, mute!!!" I can't get to the remote fast enough. I hate that fucking song.

Second, the strips. I finally broke down and tried them today (although I really just wanted a single hamburger, no pickles.) Mine were cold, which doesn't help anything, so granted this review may need revamping if I have them hot sometime. They are still formed chicken, not "meat", but they are WHITE (which is one step above 90% of nuggets.) The flavor isn't bad, nice coating, but 5 dollars for a meal with 4 of them... a bit pricey it seems? Not sure. It is McDonald's after all.... McDonald's is the last resort, the "I-have-no-food-and-only-(insert amount)-bucks" meal. I don't know.

This is so meaningless, I'm not sure why I've bothered, but my biggest beef with McDonalds (at least mine) is this: if you are selling something, and promoting the fact that it GOES with a sauce for dipping, don't try to screw me out of the sauce at the drive-thru. Put a sign on the window if you need a reminder "Ask customer if they need sauce!" and ketchup for that matter..... damn them. Don't make me listen to that terrible damn song, full of happy assholes dipping away, then try to deny me the very essence of the dipping pleasure by holding out on the sauce unless "I" ask for it. Bastards.

And the painful irony of the last paragraph is that, upon the attempted screwing of me by leaving out the sauce, I ASKED for some sauce, and it was awful. I don't know why those dipping people are so happy.

Friday, April 12

Hi there.

Haven't had a whole lot to "blog" about in the past few days. I went to dinner with some friends last night, just a quick one, I wanted to make it home for CSI (which was a rerun, little did I know! Damn!!)

Anyway, I might be heading out tonight to a NAAFA meeting (would be my first for various reasons), we'll see if decide to go, just not quite sure yet. BUT the possibility for bowling exists afterwards, so I might just chance it!! :)

Hmmm, ok, I guess that's it. Slow week. :)

The Osbournes.

What can I really say about this show? It may be the funniest thing I have ever seen. To see this metal icon at home surrounded by chaos of his own creation and playing the role of the doddering old man... it brings tears to my eyes.

If you haven't seen this yet, you MUST... it's really just unbelievable. Priceless, really. Oh my, tears come to my eyes from laughter every episode. Uncontrollable giggling that lasts through the commercials.

Oh boy. Good stuff.

Okay, well, Blogger seems to be cooperating for the time being. I just spent the better part of the day getting a 52 second movie file up and working on the site...seems ridiculous, which is why I don't do it very often! :) Someone helped me out a ton, so I think I may be better when I try to do it in the future, but all in all, it seems more trouble than it might be worth. If people like them, it's cool... I'd like to do it every once in a while as a special thing. Movie file is here. You need Quicktime 5 to watch it, just so you know.

I must run, Trading Spaces is on and I actually haven't seen this episode. Oh Joy!!

I'm having stress with this stupid journal thing now. I posted something Sunday night but have been unable to publish it since then, so all anyone is getting is a big white page. VERY annoying. I guess I may have to investigate another service if this keeps up. Not that anything here is of importance, I just don't want people getting a big page of nothing when they link over... that's just plain RUDE. :)

Here's hoping it works this time.

Sunday, April 7

Ahhhh, it was a glorious Sunday!

It was a nice sunny day here, a bit brisk, but beautiful.

Heather, John and I went to the North End in Boston to get a nice Italian lunch. We hit La Famiglia on Salem St. (GREAT) and then headed down to Mike's Pastry (famous in Boston and our area) to pick up some goodies. I got a couple of those big cookies.... peanut butter, M&M, and one peanut butter that is half dipped in chocolate. OOOooo, I can't wait to try that one. I also got a woopie pie.

Heather got some tasty pastries and some of these pine nut sort of cookies she loves (I don't like pine nuts, so it's not my thing). It was mobbed, so we'll head back sometime when we can look around a little more. It was just too crowded to have two huge girls in there browsing through the bakery cases (although I'm sure it was quite a site... :).

I had this weird (but funny) moment at the restaurant... the waiter asked if we wanted all the leftovers together, and I guess he directed it towards me, but I didn't realize, was just sort of zoning out after the carb-overload. So Heather answered him, and said, ours is together and then hers. Right answer, yes. But I guess it was just this weird thing, were I was sort of struck that I didn't have anyone to pack leftovers with. I must have had an odd look on my face, because Heather looked at me and said "Are you having a moment because you don't have anyone to pack your leftovers with?" and it was. It actually brought tears to my eyes.... and then I was laughing because it was so stupid, and I couldn't stop the tears, but I was laughing... oh boy. It was really amusing and just made me realize how something so simple can make you feel something so acutely. Ahhh.... anyway, just thought that was sort of funny, I told her I was going to post it because I was laughing so hard. :)

A little insight into my dimensia. :D

Viva la being online with an honest profile!

name withheld: 400 lbs is a bit much, don't you think?
AllBBW [12:26 AM]: I'm ok with me... but thanks for asking
name withheld: how does it feel to be about 280 lbs overweight?
AllBBW [12:27 AM]: it feels like being me... have always been heavy... so it's not like that....
name withheld: it's not healthy, it's not sexy
AllBBW [12:28 AM]: that's fine, your opinion is yours, and valid... but not all feel that
AllBBW [12:28 AM]: way
name withheld: you can't even say it's healthy
AllBBW [12:28 AM]: I can't comment on anyone but me, but my health is ok
name withheld: and also you will probably tell me you eat the same as a normal person
AllBBW [12:29 AM]: I am a normal person, thanks, but if you mean smaller weight... sometimes I eat more, sometimes less... just like anyone
name withheld: I'd say you'd really have to work hard to get to 400 lbs
AllBBW [12:31 AM]: actually nope... it wasn't a project, always been heavy, and probably always will to one extent or another

He never responded again... I guess he was hoping the blob didn't talk back.

Tuesday, April 2

What is with this Maxwell dude remaking Kate Bush's song This Woman's Work?? Hmm. Did it need redoing? And by a guy? The message doesn't seem quite as strong. I guess it's nice that another group is being exposed to the song, it's beautiful, and it's not a bad rendition, but still...just doesn't seem right. Is this what happened to older people when Kylie Minogue hijacked Locomotion into the 80s generation?

This has to be a sign I'm getting old. But at least I have good taste in music! (Yes, old woman, grip onto that one saving grace as you spiral ever closer to the 35+ demographic. Let your old CDs comfort you in your twilight years. :)

*sigh*
